1. Steve wore his Stomp out Suicide 5K Walk/Run shirt to the Fair. An amazing number of people said, "Way to go! Love what you did up there in Wyoming." "I was at the walk/run too." "What is Stomp out Suicide? I want to know more," and there were more. I think it's pretty cool that Steve made a choice to wear a shirt that spoke to him and in turn spoke to those around us. I love that he wore his shirt and brought even more awareness to the work Stomp out Suicide is doing. People do care and want to know how to make a difference. So when in doubt of what to wear to an outing where there will be lots of people wear something that shows something that you believe in and support and others will take notice. They will rally with you and you will know there are others wanting to share the things you deem important.
2. Music from the Eighties is not dead. It was so cool to see the crowd at this concert wasn't all 40-somethings, but a blend of multi-generational lovers of this music from the 1980's. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo put on an amazing show and really rallied the crowd. She sounded marvelous! He jammed his heart out on guitar and piano. I'm discounting Loverboy or Journey. But I really think that Pat and Neil really got the crowd fired up for the high energy show that Journey delivered. It was a great show and a wonderful day spent with my love, Steve and good friend, Kim. It was only fitting that after some 30 years from when Kim and I saw Pat Benatar and Loverboy perform at Parade Stadium we see them together again.
Thank you Kim, for coming up with this brilliant outing. We had a terrific day.
